The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates
The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been widespread.
The first season presents a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with songs detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator commented recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.
That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on October 29.
