A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents his initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from March of 2023.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 different events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.

His defensive play style and regular outbursts on court had led observers to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was over.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an better serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to force a decider.

The opponent saved four early break points in a close third set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
